STYLE GUIDE | What to wear for the April 2023 fair

We continue with the traditional festivals of our land. Once Easter is over , one of the most anticipated events is the Seville April Fair . The good weather, the music, and the unique atmosphere bring thousands of people to the Feria de Abril every year. This large venue features streets filled with stalls and albero streets decorated with lanterns. These streets are filled with horse-drawn carriages, flamenco dancers, and visitors. The Feria de Abril is a major event, where the flamenco dress takes center stage, but if you're not wearing one, you should opt for elegant clothes. Still don't know what to wear? Don't worry! In this article, we'll recommend outfits to live up to such a special occasion.

Night of the Little Fish

The Fair begins on the night of the "pescaíto" and the "alumbrao," the moment when the fairgrounds' entrance and lights are illuminated for the first time. On this occasion, women don't dress in flamenco dress, so they wear their best clothes that night. You can opt for items such as a midi dress , a top and pants set , or the classic suit . Since it's an evening event, we recommend wearing dark colors .

Day fair

If you decide not to dress flamenco but go to the Fair during the day, we recommend that you wear a formal look , but not too formal, without abusing glitter, sequins or exaggerated necklines, and always opting for comfortable and cool clothes, since it is usually quite hot during the day both outside and inside the booths.

The Fair is a cheerful and fun celebration, so it's time to go for bright colors ! Oranges, fuchsias, lilacs, or the classic red we love so much... use them and combine them. Avoid black as the predominant color, although you can always use it in a piece of clothing to keep you warm at night, like a jacket.

Another ideal option is to wear clothes that nod to this festive theme, and in this case, it's polka dots ! There's no print more flamenco-inspired and easy to combine, but if you think they're too much for you, floral prints wo n't go wrong either.

Footwear

Another very important consideration when choosing what to wear to the April Fair is your shoes. The floor is made of albero, and you have to keep in mind that you'll be standing for a long time, so the best option is to dress comfortably and avoid stiletto heels and flat soles. The most popular option is esparto wedges in all their variations, whether with a bow or an ankle strap. However, if you prefer sandals, it's better to choose ones with a wide heel and platform, like the Olympia model from the #UnisaByCherubina collaboration, made of raffia.

Add-ons

If you want to give your look a more flamenco touch, a flower on your head isn't an option. Add an embroidered Manila shawl, which you can find in different sizes and colors. Besides adding an elegant touch, it will also serve as a warm layer when the evening draws near.

Earrings are also another star accessory. A good look for the Fair always includes beautiful and striking earrings. We love them in their maxi and colorful versions, like these carnation-shaped earrings that you can find on our website.

And last but not least, something you can't forget to bring under any circumstances: your fan.

These are our recommendations for going to the April Fair this 2023. Still wondering what to wear? Visit our website and discover more items to impress at the Real !
